The fields, one by one
| Field | What to check |
|---|---|
| Hash | Matches the one you were given; the page exists on tronscan.org |
| Result / status | Success, and confirmed (not pending or failed) |
| Block and time | A real block, a time that matches the conversation |
| From | The payer; note it for your records |
| To | Your address, every character |
| Token transfer | Tether USD, contract TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t |
| Amount | The agreed amount |
Open the token, not just the name
The transfer shows a token name and amount. Click the token. Its page shows the contract address, holder count and creation date. The real USDT page shows Tether as the issuer and millions of holders. A copy shows few holders and a recent creation.
Make sure it is the real Tronscan
Lookalike explorers copy Tronscan’s design. Type the address yourself or use a bookmark. If the hash only opens through a link the payer sent, it is not on the real TRON chain.

What Tronscan shows for three hashes a buyer sent
| Transfer | Token | Contract | Amount | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hash 1 | Tether USD (USDT) | TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6tNot the official contract | 800.00 | to a different address |
| Hash 2 | Tether USD (USDT) | TFk2…9wQeNot the official contract | 800.00 | copy token |
| Hash 3 | Tether USD (USDT) | TR7NHqjeKQxGTCi8q8ZY4pL8otSzgjLj6t | 800.00 | to you, confirmed |
What “confirmed” means on TRON
TRON produces a block every few seconds. Tronscan shows a transaction as confirmed once enough blocks have been produced on top of it that it is considered irreversible, which normally takes under a minute. If a page shows “unconfirmed” for long, or “failed”, nothing reached you. A failed USDT transfer still costs the sender energy, so you may see a fee spent without a token moving.
Memos and notes
TRON transactions can carry a short note. Scammers use it to plant website addresses (“claim your reward at…”) in transfers of tiny amounts or copy tokens. A note is free text anyone can write. Ignore links in it.
Checking your own account page
| Section | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Token balances | USDT under the official contract; unknown tokens you never bought |
| Transfers | Zero-value or tiny transfers from lookalike addresses |
| Permissions | Owner and active permissions should be your own address |
| Approvals | Spenders you do not recognize; revoke them |
A two-minute review of your own account page catches address poisoning, approval risk and permission changes before they cost you. The TRON multisig scam explains why permissions matter.

Tronscan USDT token page: real vs copy
The Tronscan USDT token page for the official contract shows a huge holder count, a long history and market data. A copy token page usually shows few holders, a recent creation date and no market data. Click the token in every transfer you check, not just the name.
More on copies is in flash USDT TRC20.
