Steps
- Type bscscan.com and paste the hash.
- Check the status is Success.
- Find “BEP-20 Tokens Transferred”: the amount and the token, sent to your address.
- Click the token. The contract must be the Binance-Peg USDT address above.
About decimals on BNB Chain
Binance-Peg USDT uses 18 decimals, unlike USDT on TRON and Ethereum. So on BNB Chain, decimals do not help separate real from fake. The contract address does. Flash USDT BEP20.
A price is not proof
A copy token on BNB Chain can show a price if its creator made a small PancakeSwap pool. BscScan may display that price. Check the contract and the holder count, not the price.

A full walkthrough with two transfers
A buyer says they paid you 500 USDT on BEP20 and sends two hashes, one for “the payment” and one for “a refund test”. Here is how both look once you open them on BscScan yourself.
BEP-20 Tokens Transferred, two hashes from the same buyer
| Transfer | Token | Contract | Amount | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hash 1 | Binance-Peg BSC-USD (BSC-USD) | 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955Not the official contract | 5.00 | real, but 5 not 500 |
| Hash 2 | Tether USD (USDT) | 0x9e1f…a07cNot the official contract | 500.00 | copy token |
Notice the name. BscScan lists the official BEP20 USDT as Binance-Peg BSC-USD, while the copy calls itself Tether USD. Scammers count on people trusting the more familiar name.
The fields that matter on BscScan
| Field | What to check |
|---|---|
| Status | Success. “Fail” means nothing moved. |
| Block | A block number with confirmations; not “Pending” |
| From | The payer; save it for your records |
| Interacted With (To) | For a token transfer, this is the token contract |
| BEP-20 Tokens Transferred | From the payer, to your address, the amount, the token |
| Token contract (click the token) | 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955 |
| Transaction fee | Paid in BNB by the sender, not by you |
Read the token page, not only the transfer
Clicking the token opens its page. The real Binance-Peg USDT has a very large holder count, years of history and huge daily transfer volume. A copy token page usually shows a handful of holders, most of the supply in one address, and a creation date that is days or weeks old. BscScan sometimes marks tokens with warnings or reputation labels; treat any warning as a stop sign, but do not treat the absence of one as proof.
The ERC20 and BEP20 mix-up
BNB Chain and Ethereum use the same address format. A payer can send ERC20 USDT to your 0x address and tell you it was BEP20, or the reverse. If a hash returns nothing on BscScan, try it on Etherscan. If it shows up there, the funds went to Ethereum. Whether you can reach them depends on your wallet: a self-custody wallet that supports both networks usually can, while an exchange deposit address may need a support ticket. A scammer may use this confusion to delay you while they leave.
Copy tokens with a price
On BNB Chain, scammers often pair a copy token with a little BNB in a PancakeSwap pool. BscScan and wallets may then show a dollar value for it. That value disappears the moment anyone sells. The contract check is the only reliable test.
The routine in one place
- Type bscscan.com yourself; never use the payer’s link.
- Paste the hash and check Success and confirmations.
- Find the BEP-20 transfer to your address.
- Click the token: Binance-Peg BSC-USD, the official contract.
- Match the amount to what was agreed.
- Only then release goods, cash or crypto.
Check BEP20 USDT transaction fields on BscScan
To check a BEP20 USDT transaction, open BscScan by typing its address yourself, paste the hash, and read these fields.
| Field | What it must show |
|---|---|
| Status | Success |
| Block and confirmations | A block number and confirmations |
| From | The sender’s address |
| Interacted with (To) | The USDT contract for a direct transfer |
| Tokens transferred | BSC-USD or Binance-Peg USDT, to your address, with the right amount |
Click the token name and confirm the contract is 0x55d398326f99059fF775485246999027B3197955.
BscScan USDT token page signs
The BscScan USDT token page for the official contract shows a very large number of holders, a long transfer history and a market price. Copy tokens differ.
- Few holders, often only the creator and a handful of victims.
- A creation date that is recent.
- No market data, or data from one small pool.
- Sometimes a warning label after reports.
For how copies get a price, see flash USDT BEP20.
Common BscScan mistakes
- Reading only the amount, not the token contract.
- Opening a BscScan link sent by the payer, which may be a look-alike site.
- Confusing a BNB transfer with a USDT transfer; BNB shows in the value field, USDT in the token transfer section.
- Checking an ERC20 hash on BscScan, or the reverse, and assuming nothing was sent.
When BscScan shows success but nothing arrived
- Check that the receiving address is exactly yours.
- Check that the token is official USDT, not a copy.
- Check your wallet is on BNB Chain and has USDT BEP20 enabled.
- If you deposited to an exchange, check that it supports BEP20 for that address.
