Causes and fixes
| Cause | How to check and fix |
|---|---|
| Wrong network | The hash is on a different explorer than you expected. Look for USDT on that network in your wallet. |
| Token not displayed | In Trust Wallet or MetaMask, enable USDT for that network from the token list (not by a contract someone sends). |
| Still pending | The explorer shows pending. Wait for confirmation. |
| Wrong address | The explorer shows a different “to” address. The payment went elsewhere. |
| Sent to an exchange on an unsupported network | Contact the exchange’s support through its official site. |
| No transaction | The hash does not exist on the real explorer. There was no payment. |
| A copy token | The hash shows a token from a different contract. It will never show as USDT. |
Trust Wallet specifics
Trust Wallet lists USDT separately for TRON, Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain. If someone sent TRC20, look for USDT on TRON. Enable it from the token list if needed. Checking USDT in Trust Wallet.
Binance specifics
Binance credits after a set number of confirmations, and only from supported networks and official contracts. Check deposit history and the hash. Checking USDT in the Binance app.
MetaMask specifics
MetaMask shows tokens per network. Switch to the network the transfer used, and import USDT from MetaMask’s token search if it is not listed. Never import a contract a payer sends you.
When “it is not showing” is the scam
If a buyer insists they paid, refuses to give a hash, sends a link to an explorer, or asks you to add a token by contract to “see” it, the payment is not real. Fake payment proof and P2P scams.
Diagnose it in four questions
-
01 Is there a hash?
- No
- there is no transfer
- Yes
- go on
-
02 Which explorer finds it?
- Tronscan
- TRC20
- Etherscan or BscScan
- ERC20 or BEP20
-
03 Recipient is you?
- No
- sent elsewhere
- Yes
- go on
-
04 Contract is official?
- No
- copy token
- Yes
- show it in your wallet
When it is only a display problem
If the hash is real, to your address, from the official contract and confirmed, the USDT is yours. The wallet may just not be showing it:
- Switch to the right network in your wallet.
- Enable USDT for that network from the wallet’s own token list.
- Refresh or restart the app.
- If you use the same 0x address on Ethereum and BNB Chain, check both.
When the receiver is an exchange
Exchanges credit after a set number of confirmations and may pause deposits for a network during maintenance. Check the exchange’s status or announcements page. If the deposit is real and still missing after a reasonable time, open a ticket in the app with the hash.
When “not showing” is the scam
| What the sender does | What it means |
|---|---|
| Refuses to give a hash | There is no transfer |
| Gives a hash that finds nothing | The hash is invented |
| Asks you to add a token by contract | They sent a copy token |
| Sends an explorer link | Possibly a fake explorer |
| Pressures you to release anyway | They know it will not arrive |
USDT TRC20 not showing in Trust Wallet: the usual causes
When USDT TRC20 is not showing in Trust Wallet, the cause is usually one of a few things. Work through them in order.
| Cause | How to tell | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| USDT on TRON is not enabled in your token list | Your TRON address shows the transfer on Tronscan | Add USDT on the TRON network from the token list |
| Sent on a different network | Tronscan shows nothing, but Etherscan or BscScan does | Enable USDT on that network |
| Sent to a different address | The hash shows another receiving address | Check which address you gave |
| Not sent yet | No hash, or the hash is not found | The sender has not paid |
| It is a copy token | The contract does not match the official one | Nothing to fix; it is not USDT |
USDT not showing in Binance
When USDT is not showing in Binance, check deposit history before anything else.
- Is there a pending deposit? If so, wait for confirmations.
- Did the sender use a network Binance supports for that address?
- Did they use a memo or tag where needed? Most USDT networks do not need one, but check the deposit page.
- Is the token the official USDT contract? Copies are not credited.
Contact support in the app with the hash if a real deposit is missing. See checking USDT on Binance.
USDT not showing in MetaMask
When USDT is not showing in MetaMask, the cause is often the network selected or token detection.
- Switch to the network the USDT was sent on: Ethereum or BNB Chain.
- Import the official USDT contract for that network if it is not detected.
- Check your address on Etherscan or BscScan to confirm the transfer arrived.
Never import a contract address a stranger gives you. Use the official list.
USDT not received: when it is a scam
If a buyer says they sent USDT but it is not received, and they push you to release goods anyway, assume it is a scam until proven otherwise.
- “It’s stuck, release and it will arrive” is a common line.
- “Your wallet is not compatible, use this link” leads to a drainer.
- “Pay a small fee to receive it” is a fee scam.

Questions about USDT not showing
The explorer shows success but my wallet does not. Why?
Usually a display setting: the token or network is not enabled. Check the receiving address matches yours.
Can USDT sent on the wrong network be recovered?
Sometimes, if you control the private key for the address on that network. Exchanges may help in some cases, often for a fee.
