How to tell real from fake
| A real check | A fake checker |
|---|---|
| Uses a public explorer you open yourself | A link someone sends you |
| Needs a hash or an address | Needs a wallet connection or a signature |
| Costs nothing | Charges a verification or AML fee |
| Shows the token contract | Shows a “clean” or “flash detected” badge |
| Works without your seed phrase | Sometimes asks for your seed phrase |
Types of fake checker
- Wallet-connect checkers: “connect to scan your USDT”. The connection requests an approval or a signature that drains your tokens.
- Deposit checkers: “send 1 USDT to verify ownership”. The deposit, and anything after it, is kept.
- Fee checkers: “pay 50 USDT for an AML certificate”. The certificate is a picture.
- Lookalike explorers: copies of Tronscan or Etherscan that show whatever the scammer enters.
- Checker bots: Telegram bots with the same asks.
Domains we have seen named in reports include usdtcheck[.]net. Names change constantly; the pattern does not.
The real check, free
Paste a contract address below. It runs in your browser and sends nothing.
Or follow how to check flash USDT on the explorer.
If you used a fake checker
Revoke approvals, move funds to a new wallet and report the site to the platform that sent you there. What to do in the first 24 hours. Related: the fake AML check and free tools that check sites and wallets.
What a fake checker page does
-
01 Landing
- Headline
- “Check if your USDT is flash”
- Button
- Connect wallet
-
02 Fake scan
- Animation
- “Scanning blockchain…”
- Result
- “Verification required”
-
03 The ask
- Option A
- approve to verify
- Option B
- pay 1% AML fee
-
04 After
- Your USDT
- drained or fee lost
Where people are sent to these sites
- P2P buyers who say they need proof your USDT is clean. The fake AML check.
- Search ads for “flash USDT checker” and “USDT AML check”.
- Telegram bots that offer free checks and then charge.
- Wallet DApp browsers, where a link opened inside the wallet feels official.
Legitimate compliance tools
Real blockchain analytics and AML screening products exist. Exchanges and businesses use them through contracts and dashboards. They do not need you to connect your wallet or approve anything, and a P2P counterparty has no reason to send you to one. If a check matters to a business you deal with, they run it themselves on your address.
Recognising the domains
| Pattern | Example of the pattern |
|---|---|
| Brand plus “check” or “verify” | usdt-check, tether-verify |
| Explorer lookalikes | tronscan with an extra letter or a different ending |
| Very new domains | registered days or weeks before you see them |
| Free hosting subdomains | name.netlify.app, name.vercel.app |
Domain age is easy to check with ICANN Lookup. A “checker” registered last week is not a compliance service.
Flash USDT checker sites: what a safe one would need
A safe flash USDT checker would only need public information: a token contract, a transaction hash or an address. Anything more is a warning.
| What the site asks for | Safe? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A transaction hash or contract address | Yes | Public data, anyone can read it |
| Your public wallet address | Usually | Public, though it reveals your balances |
| A wallet connection | No | Opens the door to signature requests |
| A signature or approval | No | Can give the site control over your tokens |
| A recovery phrase or private key | Never | Gives full control of your wallet |
| A fee | No | Public checks are free on any explorer |
Flash USDT verify: the free method
To flash USDT verify a token or a payment, you need two things, both free: the explorer for the network and the official contract address.
- Type the explorer address yourself: Tronscan, Etherscan or BscScan.
- Paste the transaction hash or your address.
- Click the token name and read the contract.
- Compare with the official contract list.
Network-specific guides: Tronscan, Etherscan, BscScan.
USDT checker scam: where the links come from
A USDT checker scam link usually reaches you from someone who benefits from you using it.
- A buyer in a P2P trade who says “check my payment here”.
- A seller of flash USDT who says “verify your flash here”.
- A token in your wallet with the checker’s address in its name.
- A comment or post replying to someone asking how to check USDT.
- A search ad above real results.
Treat any checker you did not find yourself as hostile.
Fake USDT check pages that copy explorers
Some fake USDT check pages copy the layout of Tronscan or Etherscan and use a domain that looks similar. They show a successful transfer of official USDT for any hash you enter.
- Check the domain in the address bar character by character.
- Bookmark the real explorers once and use only the bookmarks.
- If a hash shows success on a link but not on your bookmarked explorer, the link is fake.
Explorer copies are often used with fake payment proof.
Fake USDT verification site: if you used one
- If you only entered a hash or address, you are fine. Close the site.
- If you connected a wallet, disconnect it and check for approvals; revoke any you did not intend.
- If you signed something, move funds to a new wallet created on a clean device.
- If you entered a recovery phrase, treat the wallet as lost and move funds at once.
- Report the site to the host and on our listing report page.
